Happy Repeal Day on this 75th anniversary of the repeal of the 18th Amendment.
On December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, thus repealing the 18th Amendment of 1920 and bringing an end to 13 years, 10 months and 19 days of the Prohibition. Beer was served in many states before that, but ultimately it was Utah's holdout vote which finally passed the 21st Amendment, leaving it to the states how alcohol would be regulated.
(Michigan was the first to ratify on April 10).
